Posted by on December 27, 2011

Children photography is perhaps the most rewarding field of photography. It is obvious that children are active and high energy photo subjects and barking commands do not make them cooperative. It is important to make it fun and to keep it moving if you do not want sour and angry faces on photographs. Amber is children photographer in Utah County amazing with children because she does not expect them to sit still or to make fake smiles. On the contrary, she forms a special bond with even stubborn children, relaxes them and they honestly smile and laugh.

One of the useful tips when taking children photograhs is to avoid environments with unwanted background and foreground. Clean background is very important because if there is something vertical or horizontal behind them, those stripes would look like as they are getting out from children heads. Removing unwanted objects helps to emphasize the main subject of attention. If the photographs have to be taken at the playground in the park then photographer has many unwanted objects all around. To overcome this problem, it is recommended to move closer to children in order to isolate the main subject from the busy surrounding. Still, it is alright to include some parts of the playground to give a sense that children are playing. Also, in order to isolate subjects from the surrounding, it is useful to use a longer lens or to zoom in.

Being patient is a must, because children are naturally active and not always in the mood to listen to instructions. Talking to them and making them feel comfortable and relaxed in your presence is of extreme importance. It is always good to allow them to play with their favorite toys. And remember, do not be stressed out! Relax yourself also, have fun and take lots of photographs!
