How to Take Beautiful Pictures of Babies

Taking the perfect photo of a baby can be very difficult but honoring job. Photography of a baby is always assembled under the category of photography of children, but baby photography is a completely different aspect. Kids are normally easier to work with because you can instruct them, but a small baby is difficult to work with.

As with photography of children, it is necessary to understand the development level of the baby is at to get the beautiful smiles. The below mentioned are some tips for capturing great baby photos at different stages of development.

Up to 10 weeks: There isn’t much to do for a baby at this stage except lying down in a prone position. The baby is not very active at this stage when compared with later stages, so if the baby is not fussy, taking photographs is very easy. You should try to lay the baby on its back and focus your camera at the head of baby.

Four to six months: At this stage baby can hold its head up, prop up its head and lie on its tummy. The baby will follow and watch all the objects, reach for different things and grab. You can try placing the baby on its tummy at this stage, put a toy in front to catch his or her attention, and pull it towards the camera. The eyes of the baby should follow it and baby will be looking directly at the camera when you take the photo. The lips of baby are very sensitive and you can make her smile by tickling the lip with a small tissue or a soft toy.

Six to nine months: Baby is usually very alert at this stage and observes everything near to her. She can sit up, crawl and also pull herself and stand up holding on to things like sofa or a chair. At this stage baby may be sensitive to tickle which can be used to make her smile. You need to be very quick because the baby laugh is very short lived. You need to be fast with the complete photo session as mood of the baby can change any time.
